The Role

To co-ordinate, manage and improve the technical function and resources to ensure the company meets customer and product requirements

Main Functions

Management and Implementation of Formulations

  • Calculation of inputs to meet product label claims and stability
  • Preparation and development of calculation tools
  • GMP responsibilities for formulation inputs
  • Preparing and Maintaining Technical Documentation
  • Databases preparation and maintenance
  • Certificates of Analysis
  • Product Specifications
  • Product Information Documentation
  • Coordinating with internal and external customers to implement New Product Development and Introduction
  • Converting specifications to BOM through a Quality controlled change process – CCN’s
  • Coordinating New Product processes to ensure smooth transfer of products to the shop floor – issuing technical projects numbers, ensure NPI files kept up to date

Data Analysis

  • Analysis of product testing data – trend analysis
  • Reports delivered to implement changes for product improvement

Secondary Functions

  • Preparing and Maintaining Technical Documentation
  • Providing product information
  • Responding to customer/internal queries
  • Dealing with external suppliers/internal supply chain
  • Knowledge of sourcing and approving new materials and suppliers
  • Application of material information held on file
  • Producing specifications to send to customers from our supplier information
  • Approving external analysis results from external laboratories against a set specification

Technical Resource

  • Providing a technical knowledge resources for all departments relating to the design, development, implementation of goods

Technical Documentation

  • Construction of company technical documentation.
  • Document control of the technical information files
  • Producing standard technical reports

  • Ability to recognise ingredients with potential regulatory issues.

  • Knowledge of application of the materials
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles

The Person

  • Degree in biological or related science subject
  • Five years’ experience in a Technical role
  • Project management and implementation
  • Experience working in other related fields in the business to apply a top to bottom knowledge of the formulation, development, implementation, manufacture and quality systems
